Description

Located in Exposition Park, the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (NHM) is one of the largest and most visited family-friendly museums in Southern California. With over 35 million specimens and artifacts, NHM brings the natural world to life through immersive galleries and hands-on exhibits designed to spark curiosity in visitors of all ages.

Step into the Dinosaur Hall, home to over 300 fossils and 20 full skeletons—including a rare T. rex growth series that charts the dinosaur’s development from juvenile to adult. Just steps away, the Age of Mammals showcases how life evolved after the dinosaurs through dramatic displays of ancient mammals and detailed timelines.

Younger guests will enjoy the Discovery Center and Nature Lab, where live animals, touchable specimens, and interactive stations offer engaging, kid-friendly science experiences. Outside, the Nature Gardens span 3.5 acres of native plants and pollinator habitats.
